Face painting is a great source of entertainment for everyone. At events we are able to witness adults allowing the inner child to play. In amazement people watch as the transformation takes place and with anticipation for who will be next. We live in a visual world that is colorful and creative and that is why I love this business so much.
About the Artist
Ginny Colangelo’s 30 year journey from collegiate theater major, to creating The Boston Face Painters, a premiere theatrical makeup and body art company in Boston, has been as rich in skill as it has been varied in experience. Starting out as licensed cosmetologist, instructor, makeup/hair stylist, wig master and wardrobe stylist, just became the springboard for Ginny to continually refine her eclectic and diverse interpretations of color on the body.
Ginny’s artistry has been seen on set in TV, film, theater and rock concerts. She has worked behind the scene for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the Boston Ballet, Ballet Met, Miami City Ballet, Paul McCartney, Gene Simmons of Kiss or working with police departments to create special effects for realistic casualty reenactments, she is never short on innovation.
Today, in addition to guiding a team of ten artists at The Boston Face Painters, Ginny can also be seen on one of the movie sets here in Boston. She is a union artist with IATSE 798. Ginny continues to inspire others in workshops at trade shows, conventions and colleges around the world.
